about

The title is my default explanation for why I do as I do. Followed closely by "Seemed like a good idea at the time."

lyrics

That's Just How I Am

Back in Chicago people would know
Soon as I opened my mouth
I come from down south, not up around there
Sometimes someone would stare
Scuse me, sir or ma'am, I'd say
But that's just how I am

Ole mom and ole dad said it was bad
I didn't do like they'd say
Boy, you blast tunes all day
They'd cry, God on high,
Act like a natural guy
Scuse me sir and ma'am, I say
But that's just how I am

It has been said I'm a strange so and so
Might get crazy, you don't never know
Guess that's true, sometimes I get in a jam
I do like I do, that's just how I am

I won't set my clock or turn on the AC
Some folks wonder what is wrong with me
That's ok--like this ole boy gives a damn
Man, say what you may, that's just how I am

Some folks here and there they give me the sneer
and hit me with some lame crack
Times when they attack, man they dish it out
and I push back, ain't no doubt
Scuse me, folks, but man, ain't no lie
That's just how I am

That's just how am
It ain't no scam
Look here now,
That's just how I am

about

Kent McDaniel Chicago, Illinois

First band Kent ever saw was Salty Gamblin & The Mudcat Band. Spring Fest, his 5th grade year. They walked out, plugged in, looked at everybody. Had electric guitar, bass, & drums--& Salty on acoustic & vocals. Bam, they tore into "I Saw The Light." Chills shot up & down Kent's body.
He saved up & got a Gibson Melody Maker. Played & sang ever since. Never means to stop.
